Sterile Processing Technician
Primary Location : NY Harbor Healthcare System (NYHHCS) Manhattan Campus 423 E 23 Street New York NY 10010
Job Type : Temporary
Hours : 12 : 00pm - 8 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday, off all holidays with pay.
Responsibilities : Included but not limited to
- Operating and preparing surgical instruments and medical devices to clean, disinfect, and decontaminate.
- Inspecting instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear.
- Unpacking, checking and stocking new equipment, instruments and devices.
- Delivering equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility.
- Responding to emergency supply requests during surgical procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of when items undergo sterilization.
- Monitoring temperature and humidity conditions within storage areas.
- Ensures proper disposal of hazardous waste and reports all malfunctioning equipment.
- Clean loading carts, delivery carts, work areas, using chemical solutions and detergents
Requirements & Experience :
CBSPD). Level II certification - Veterans Affairs Certification, preferred.
