Title: Scheduler
Reports to: Director of Nursing/Designee
Overview: The Scheduler will be responsible for day to scheduling of clients and employees for the Home Health Agency. This function includes the human resource role of scheduling interviews, assisting the applicant through the required paperwork, following up on mandatory documentation completion and ensuring that the employee file is in compliance with Federal, State, and Agency regulations/policies.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule staff to meet the requests and needs of the patient.
- Sets up both patient and employee schedules according to the Plan of Treatment/physician Orders.
- Reviews all patient related documentation upon submission to ensure it matches to schedule.
- Completes/maintains Schedule Book and Patient Log Book.
- Notifies clinical designee of any problems/concerns and follows up on these problems/concerns according to the clinical designees input.
- Completes the employee file and ensures it is in compliance with Federal, State, and Agency regulations/policies.
- Files employee related documents.
- Processes in-coming reference requests.
- Notifies employees when paperwork is outdated.
- Ensures all employees are HIPAA educated according to Agency policy.
- Ensures all employees signs a position-related job description with their privacy status outlined.
- Inputs data into the computer (clinical and payroll) systems.
- Distributes payroll checks to walk-ins.
- Data inputs and transmits OASIS data within seven (7) days of the assessment completed.
- Maintains file of OASIS transmissions.
- Data inputs 485 information timely and accurately.
- Assists in mailing out 485s and physician orders.
- Answers phones.
- Handles on-call and completes on-call log. If delegated, ensures phones are handled and on-call log is completed.
- Assists with in-coming referrals.
- Demonstrating courteous, cooperative, and respectful behavior.
- Uses proper body mechanics
- Provides necessary information to maintain current employee file.
- Attends in-services/meetings as scheduled.
- Complies with polices and procedures.
- Practices safely and competently within job description.
- Communicates with supervisor about problems and other concerns.
- Utilizes good grooming habits and complies with dress code
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree - preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in healthcare home health related preferred.
- Computer literate.
Privacy Status:
Maintains compliance with Privacy Procedures Manual. Reports any non-compliance to Supervisor.
Access to active medical records under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Access to discharged medical records under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Access to employee files under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
