Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA)

Part time: 3-4 shifts per week
At SRM Urgent Care, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Medical Assistant. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable providing customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with and follow internal office procedures and protocols.
- Manage office procedure, files, and records.
- Register and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist the physician during examinations.
- Administer injections.
- Take basic x-rays.
- Phlebotomy
- Call in prescriptions to pharmacies if needed.
- Explain medical procedures to patients.
- Schedule appointments if needed.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Answer phone calls
- Identify abnormal test results and immediately bring it to medical provider’s attention.
- Promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
- Effectively participate in planning and preparing for patient visits
- Room patients, perform appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing, and other requested procedures.
- Prepare and stock rooms and clinic supplies.
- Assist with routine and specialty procedures.
- Schedule patients for follow up appointments or referrals if needed.
- Perform telephone messaging and in-person screening.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
The required certification/skills include:
The minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or one (1) year of experience in addition to the three (3) years of experience required to meet the experience requirement, and certification may be substituted for Medical Assistant training program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) may be required.
Basic Radiology Certification/skills required.
The use and care of standard clinic equipments/tools.
