Leasing Consultant

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for coordinating all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. This role interacts directly with prospective and current residents to maximize occupancy, ensure resident retention, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by listening, understanding, and responding to the needs of prospective and current residents.
  • Generate and manage leasing traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, and complete lease documentation.
  • Ensure model apartments are properly maintained and in touring condition.
  • Conduct property tours and introduce prospective residents to available units and community amenities.
  • Process lease renewals and ensure timely delivery of renewal paperwork to residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of leasing traffic, applications, and resident interactions.
  • Follow up with prospective residents through phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Convert phone inquiries into scheduled appointments for property tours.
  • Inspect apartments prior to move-ins to ensure they meet move-in standards, coordinating with the maintenance team as needed.
  • Create and maintain confidential resident files, ensuring all lease paperwork is accurately completed.
  • Complete weekly leasing reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures for the leasing office.
  • Support resident relations by ensuring service requests are properly documented and addressed.
  • Conduct market research by shopping competitive properties.
  • Assist in inspecting buildings and common areas, reporting maintenance needs to the appropriate team.
  • Process work order requests and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Provide clerical support as needed, including answering phone calls, filing, and processing invoices.
  • May assist with planning and implementing resident events to encourage engagement and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • At least one year of sales experience preferred.
  • One year of residential leasing experience preferred.

Schedule:

  • Must maintain a regular schedule, which may include work outside standard business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Office and property-based work environment with occasional travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide detailed instructions and handle resident concerns.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to assess property conditions and safety concerns.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Must comply with all safety regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
