The Investment Associate will be responsible for performing all aspects of underwriting and due diligence for real estate assets and operating companies:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and underwrite commercial real estate properties across all asset classes.
- Model in-place and projected investment performance including investor returns across various waterfall structures.
- Assist with all due diligence relating to new investments.
- Gather market data including demographics, sales and rent comparables, and other market studies.
- Prepare and present internal and external investment memos.
- Monitor and analyze investment performance.
- Assists with financing and disposition transactions.
- Assists with ad-hoc/special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting.
- Three to five years of related experience, Commercial Real Estate experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret and review purchase agreements, closing statements, appraisals, tax forms, surveys, lease agreements, and title documentation.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and underwriting related experience, preferably with all commercial property types.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills including in-depth expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
- Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative.
- Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work long hours, including some nights and weekends.
