Summary
Facilities Strategic Planner will develop site, building, space, and project plans in alignment with corporate and departmental objectives. Planners will be responsible for development and oversight of strategies including Facilities’ 2035 Sustainability Goals, SRP’s Hybrid Workplace, Facilities Portfolio Management, and the Facilities Betterments Roadmap. For various projects, Planners will intake customer requests, develop initial scope / cost estimates, create program documentation, validate conceptual options with internal client and Facilities teams for feasibility, and hand-off to project management.
What You'll Do
Partners with SRP internal clients through project intake, determining requirements and scope of various types of Facilities projects.
Develops site master plans, entailing long-term property use intent, building specifics and locations, and occupants.
Develops conceptual project plans, including scope and cost estimates, and program documentation. Validates conceptual options with internal clients and Facilities teams for feasibility. Hand-off to project management team and supports design process.
Oversees space planning, space inventory, and manages requests for space changes and relocations within SRP facilities.
Partners with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure feasibility of the most effective and economical solutions.
Proposes plans and schedules to complete a variety of projects for facilities consistent with standards, specifications, and requirements to ensure that projects are planned consistently within SRP.
Partners with Analyst team to align strategic plans with 6-year capital proposals and available funding. Assists with project related presentations for approval by executive leadership.
Manages the procurement and directs the activities of third-party consultant, architectural, design, and engineering services per SRP procurement guidelines with direct responsibility on decisions in planning and programming stages.
Ensures compliance within federal, city, state, and company regulations.
Experience
For an associate level, a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience plus a bachelor's degree is required. (If no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four years.)
For a journey level, a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experienced plus a bachelor's degree is required. (If no degree, six years-eight of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six years.)
For a senior level, a minimum of five years of related experience plus a bachelor's degree is required. (If no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years.)
Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
Education
A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
