Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering DB2 LUW databases on Linux platforms, ensuring high availability and performance. This role requires strong expertise in database installation, configuration, and management, as well as experience with automation, disaster recovery, and data replication.
Responsibilities:
- Administer DB2 LUW databases on Linux platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Install, upgrade, and patch DB2 databases to maintain data integrity and security.
- Conduct regular backup and recovery operations to prevent data loss.
- Perform performance tuning of high-scale databases to optimize query execution and reduce latency.
- Setup and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) databases and perform regular DR tests to ensure business continuity.
- Develop and implement automation scripts using shell scripting or Ansible to streamline database administration tasks.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy database objects and configure data replication using federation and other data replication tools like Attunity and DTShare.
- Provide regular status updates to management on database performance and issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in DB2 DBA with replication expertise.
- Strong knowledge of database installation and configuration, including Db2 LUW on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms.
- Expertise in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in database design, patch and version management, capacity planning, documentation, collaboration, automation monitoring, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
