Field Service Technician

*Pay range: $33 and up (DOE)

Imperial Technical Services, a partner of Heritage Landscape is seeking a dedicated and skilled Outside Field Technician to join our San Diego team. This role primarily focuses on the inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of irrigation booster pumps and commercial irrigation systems. Regular maintenance is a crucial part of this position. The ideal candidate will have experience with irrigation equipment, booster pumps, low-voltage and high-voltage systems, and possess excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, and regular maintenance of commercial irrigation timers, including our in-house irrigation assembly enclosures, as well as timers from Rain Bird, Toro, Hunter, Rain Master, Tucor, Calsense, and Weathertrak.
• Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of commercial irrigation timer and booster pump installations (up to 15 horsepower).
• Safely work with and around low-voltage and high-voltage systems, up to 480V / 3-phase.
• Travel to various job sites throughout San Diego to complete inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
• Provide daily updates to customers and the dispatch team, clearly communicate service details through emails, reports, and pictures.
• Effectively monitor and manage multiple project timelines by regularly reviewing progress, identifying potential delays or obstacles, and proactively addressing any outstanding issues to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
• Diagnose, repair, and assess the overall performance of irrigation booster pump systems, including Barrett, Rain Bird, and Watertronics.
• Operate the provided company vehicle safely to and from multiple job site daily across San Diego, ensuring proper care and maintenance of the vehicle and company-provided tools.
• Consistently uphold and strictly enforce safety standards and protocols at all times, especially when interacting with electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to maintain personal safety and prevent injuries.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Hands-on experience with commercial irrigation systems, including booster pumps and timers.
• Knowledge of low-voltage/high-voltage electrical system up to 480V/3-phase
• Skill in diagnosing and repairing irrigation controllers and booster pumps.
• Strong customer interaction and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
• Physical capability to lift and carry tools and equipment as necessary.
• Able to pass criminal, driving background check and a pre-employment drug test.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma/GED and/or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in a field technician role is highly desirable.
• Experience with irrigation equipment, booster pumps, low-voltage and high-voltage systems, and possess excellent customer service skills.
