Position: Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer
Location: Denver, CO - Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Implementation:
- Configure and deploy Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments and instances per Cloud Architect designs.
- Establish and manage security controls in collaboration with the NetSecOps team.
- Provision infrastructure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, primarily Terraform.
Platform Management & Improvement:
- Manage user, organizational, and group access per IAM-defined requirements.
- Monitor and report on cloud platform performance to meet management needs.
- Evaluate new Google Cloud Platform capabilities for potential adoption to enhance platform functionality.
Documentation & Advocacy:
- Define and document standards, procedures (SOPs), and templates for Google Cloud Platform resource consumption.
- Communicate and advocate the cloud platform's capabilities to encourage adoption.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
- Serve as a Tier-2 escalation resource for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Participate in a weekly after-hours on-call rotation for incident response.
Collaboration & Automation:
- Work with the NetSecOps team to ensure network security policies are implemented consistently and automated.
- Assist with automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure streamlined deployments.
