Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records through meticulous account reconciliation and analysis. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices. The Reconciliation Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Analyze discrepancies and variances, providing detailed reports and recommendations for resolution.
- Utilize QuickBooks, Quicken, or other accounting software to manage financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and other departments to resolve any outstanding issues related to account discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing tax-related documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain organized records of all reconciliations and adjustments made during the reconciliation process.
- Support month-end closing activities by ensuring all reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on best practices in corporate accounting and reconciliation processes.
Qualifications
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Quicken, or similar accounting software; experience with UltiPro is a plus.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable processes.
- Experience with tax preparation or compliance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with team members across various departments.
- Previous experience as an accounts clerk or in a similar role is advantageous.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
