Responsibilities
- This Operational Awareness position works with internal support teams and suppliers to analyze, resolve, and lead event resolution throughout all mission critical IT and Telecom service levels, system states, interruptions, and environmental factors.
- Responsible for critical role whose primary responsibility is to protect business system availability through integrated incident, problem, and change management. Including actions to engage system / application owners, and escalation to major incident / problem teams.
- Responsible for system monitoring and evaluating of fault conditions as opportunities for optimization.
- Works with major incident response team, providing escalations for critical events, as well as discovery and monitoring during major incidents.
- Serves to evaluate potential tool and process changes to improve monitoring / alerting for operations / Dev Ops pipeline processes.
- Assist in technical root cause analysis with problem team via log, alert, alarm, and metric analysis.
- Engage with the vendor/internal application/infrastructure/change/incident/problem management teams for internal issues. Proactively look for potential business impacting events and manages incident processes to ensure corrective action is taken around all alerts/problem reports.
- Provide expert guidance during After Action Reviews / Critical Process Reviews / Problem Investigations / Application and Infrastructure Support debriefs.
- Analyze problem trends and reports, monitoring tools, alerting systems, and logs. Explicitly, can identify chronic activity.
- Participate with management in defining, developing and executing plans to accomplish support objectives and creating policies and procedures.
- Ability to address and communicate to senior levels of management, giving timely notification to appropriate parties as efficiently as possible.
- B.S. degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering) preferred
- Technical certification(s) or five or more years of support experience (event, incident, problem, change management)
- Work history in architecting, deployment, and use of application performance management, console operations, and monitoring / alerting tools. Including Dynatrace, AppMon, Zabbix, SCOM
- Work history with Dev Ops environment application performance tuning
- ITSM Certification preferred
- Able to work in a 7x24 environment
- Provide on call support as needed
