The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the discharging, staging, and loading of all cargo/luggage for vessel operations. Guaranteeing quality, security, safety and efficiency in accordance with relevant operational and technical parameters. This position serves as first line supervisor of the operations management team and is responsible for the direction and supervision of all superintendents and labor. While maintaining a positive working relationship with the labor, the Operations Manager is to set the standard and be held accountable for a safe and efficient operation.
- Supervises personnel in proper operating procedures, and as needed will counsel, discipline and/or make termination recommendations to ensure an efficient operation.
- Plans, designs and implements all cruise vessel operations.
- Ensures productivity levels by supervising workers and coordinating with office staff within the terminal operation and follow up assessments prior to shift end.
- Completes various reports and forms such as activity reports, payroll, and safety summaries; Produces reports to respective parties within required deadlines.
- Ensure labor payroll is submitted in timely manner. Working directly with labor on any necessary corrections.
- Plans, holds and documents daily safety meetings; partnering with Safety Director to understand and train workers to adhere to safety procedures while implementing plans to address safety hazards.
- Ensures that all PPE is worn at all times and distributed for jobs that require additional PPE.
- Ensures availability of equipment and personnel required for timely completion of scheduled operations, and that staff and equipment are fully utilized and assist as necessary with other required tasks in order to complete operations within specific time.
- Enforces and follows company's policies and procedures.
- Responsible for investigation and reporting damages and liabilities to the appropriate management and authorities.
- Serves as a key coordinator between all parties, customers and labor.

- High school diploma or equivalent experience working in management
- 3 years managing related labor
- Valid CPR certificate required
- Must have valid DL
- Ability to obtain TWIC/Port IDs as required
- Extensive rigging expertise, including load/stress and calculation skills.
- Thorough knowledge or principles of operations
- Proven leadership skills.
- Experience with computerized operating systems, including Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired
- Required to observe all safety and health requirements.

Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
- The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment

Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 per year
