Fire Protection Systems Division
Location: Memphis, TN
The Cylinder Hydrotest Manager Trainee must be focused, detailed oriented, and self-motivated, can work independently and in a team environment, must enjoy working with his/her hands, be mechanical minded, be able to follow written and verbal instructions and must be proficient with the latest technology. Accuracy and precision in following procedures and regulatory processes is mandatory. The candidate will go through a training program that includes learning to examine, test, and maintain compressed gas cylinders including cylinders used in beverage, scuba, and fire extinguishers per DOT and NFPA specifications.
Upon completion of training, the candidate will begin the safe testing and maintaining of compressed gas cylinders which may also include delivery of the cylinders. Must learn and demonstrate a competent understanding of applicable NFPA codes, manufacture standards and DOT 49 CFR guidelines. The candidate must be in good physical condition as the demands of the job are physical in nature. Position will be Memphis based.
Job Duties:
• Perform low pressure hydro testing on cylinders per Manufacture, NFPA and DOT specifications.
• Perform high pressure hydro testing on cylinders per Manufacture, NFPA and DOT specifications.
• Perform recharging of dry chemical, wet chemical, clean agent and CO2 cylinders per Manufacture, NFPA and DOT specifications.
• Perform 6-year maintenance on dry chemical fire extinguishers per Manufacture and DOT specifications.
• Demonstrates knowledge of DOT special exemptions CFR 49 Section 173.34 and CGA pamphlets specified in CFR 49 Section 173.34 and performs all duties in keeping with the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Completes all documentation and data entry associated with testing, inspection and repair in a timely and accurate manner. This includes all testing, inspection and repair documents.
• Communicate with extinguisher technicians regarding completed tests.
• Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Conducts equipment troubleshooting and minor maintenance and routine inspection of operating equipment to fix or determine the need for additional equipment repairs or replacement, as needed.
• Offer excellent service to walk-in customers, selling extinguishers and service as needed
• Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends, as necessary.
• Operate forklift to load/unload cylinders and fire extinguishers.
• Operate Company Box Truck to make needed fire extinguisher and cylinder pick up and deliveries to customers and branch location.

• Complete classroom instruction and satisfactory pass written and practical demonstration exams within 6 months of hire for NFPA and DOT, visual inspection and hydrostatic testing and required State Licenses.
• Available for travel, may include nights and weekends to accommodate training courses and customers' needs.
• Must possess valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and company background check.
Physical Requirements & Exposures:
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Must be able to carry 75 pounds repeatedly
• Must be able to push greater than 100 pounds as needed
• Must be able to pull greater than 100 pounds as needed
• Must be able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
• Constant (5-8hrs/shift) standing, walking, handling items, and eye/hand/foot coordination
• Frequently (2-5hrs/shift) lifting, carrying, repetitive motions, noise exposure, grasping items
• Occasionally (up to 2hrs/shift) sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, balancing, reaching, crouching, exposure to weather
This position may require the handling of chemicals that may be skin and/or respiratory irritants. Person may also be exposed to ventilation areas which may have respiratory irritant. Must not be skin and respiratory sensitive to these materials and environments. MSDS are available.

Starting pay rate will be $20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on applicable experience.
