What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Packer 2nd Shift position at SSI Foods LLC?
Key Duties/Responsibilities
This position will rotate general laborer positions including scaler, block handler, and box runner/taper person for breaks and lunches or as directed.
- Completes tasks for the job that this position is rotating into for a short period of time
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area
- Performs other related duties as requested
Stacker
- Responsible for keeping patties on the production line
- Distribute empty boxes to lines as needed
- Accurately place stacks of patties in the empty boxes
Scaler
- Check and adjust box weights as needed
- Ensure plastic liners completely and securely cover the completed care prior to taping
- May conduct box count checks
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and operation.
Block Handler
- Move cases from the pallet to the microwave infeed belt following safe lifting guidelines
- Remove liner and push the block into position to feed grinder
Box Runner/Taper
- Responsible for keeping patty stackers supplied with boxes
- Take boxes off of the conveyor and move them to the patty stackers
- Tape full boxes as needed
Required Skills/Abilities
- Basic math, language, and reading skills
- Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly
Education and Experience
- High school diploma preferred
- 6-months previous Warehouse/Production experience required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain a single task focus and situational awareness
- Must be able to move and lift up to 60-pound wooden skid or pallet
- Able to work in a cold refrigerated environment for up to 10 hours.
