What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Laborer (MUST have weekend availability) position at SSI Foods LLC?
Key Duties/Responsibilities
The Sanitor will clean assigned plant areas and equipment using a combination of dry pickup, hot water and chemicals always following the safe procedures for each chemical and task.
- Using a combination of chemicals, water, and cleaning tools the sanitor will clean floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment as assigned
- Will lock out equipment following SSI Lock-out procedures prior to beginning any equipment cleaning
- Communicates any equipment damage or issues to supervisor
- Participates in chemical training and strictly follows guidelines, rules, and regulations regarding specific chemicals
- Complies with all SSI, federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work in and around equipment.
- Ability to read at a basic level to understand risks on SDS or chemical labels.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma preferred
Physical Requirements
- Regular periods of standing and walking in a cooler environment (35 to 45 degrees F)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to work in a cold and hot wet environment.
- Ability to move in, around and under equipment.
