Avionics Technician

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and test according to written procedures.
• Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
• Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles.
• Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
• Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required.
• Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field. Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, and general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly. Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures. Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in handling large aerospace components.
• Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.
• Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
• Military experience.

Pay range: $42-46/hr on W2
