Job Title: Database Administrator
Location : Columbus Ohio 43215 (100% Onsite)
Duration: (8 Months Contract on W2 with possibility of extension) Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Azure DataBricks to join our team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining secure and efficient database structures to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, expertise in data architecture, and familiarity with security best practices.
- Additional responsibilities related to cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance will be integrated to align with enterprise security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient database solutions within Azure DataBricks to optimize data storage and retrieval.
- Evaluate client s operations, applications, and requirements to identify database structural needs.
- Ensure that all data models, architectures, and solutions align with client s data standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database architecture with cybersecurity best practices, ensuring secure and compliant data handling.
- Develop and maintain data models, creating end-to-end technical implementation plans.
- Work within both legacy and modern computing architectures, ensuring seamless data integration and transition to cloud-based environments.
- Apply knowledge of architecture modeling standards, cloud security principles, and industry best practices.
- Analyze database and security risks, supporting threat intelligence, risk assessments, and incident response.
- Utilize SQL to optimize database performance, ensure data integrity, and support secure access controls.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities in database structures, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF.
- Participate in security audits, compliance reviews, and forensic analysis when necessary.
- Explore AI and machine learning applications for database security, performance optimization, and threat detection.
Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of experience in a Database Administrator (DBA) role.
- Strong knowledge of Azure DataBricks, SQL, and data modeling.
- Experience developing end-to-end technical plans for implementation.
- Understanding of SDLC agile models and best practices.
- Familiarity with legacy and cloud-based computing architectures.
- Knowledge of data architecture modeling standards and tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with cybersecurity principles, cloud security, and data protection.
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in enterprise security architectures and incident response.
- Familiarity with identity & access management (IAM), threat intelligence, and secure application development.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or cloud security certifications
