Department: Cardinal Glennon Access Center Schedule: Variable but mostly 3p-3a and 7p-7a. This is a 100% remote position, except for orientation and RQI, which require being in the Hospital. Experience Required: 3 years critical care experience, ED, neonatal, or pediatric preferred. We will need NRP, BLS, PALS, and ALS; if you do not have them, we will provide them during their orientation. Strong triage and communication skills are critical. Customer service skills are critical as the providers (MD, NP, PA) are our customers. Location Address: Remote/Cardinal Glennon *$5000 Referral Bonus available to current employees** Job Summary: Coordinates and facilitates patient admission according to patient acuity, bed availability, and required services. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to place patient in appropriate level of care to achieve desired outcomes. Triage patients via use of virtual phone and gather intake information from various providers. Facilitates consults with specialty services as well as coordinating transfers and direct admissions. Reviews medical reports from referring hospitals or physician offices and relays information to nursing unit. Develops relationships with referral sources and admission decision makers. Dispatches neonatal, pediatric and maternal transport team. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing EXPERIENCE Three years' critical care experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Rare climbing.
