Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic medical radiographs to ensure proper diagnosis and quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of radiography principles and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the skills to produce quality radiographs by using appropriate exposure techniques to ensure proper penetration of the area being radiographed.
- Uses the Kodak CR Imaging System to produce quality films and performs tasks such as loading the laser printer correctly with film.
- Communicates technical information in a manner appropriate for the intended person (patient, co-worker, etc.).
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition, adheres to hospital safety and infection control policies, and reports faulty equipment to appropriate persons.
- Practices Radiation Safety for patients, self, and co-workers.
- Attends departmental in-services and meetings as instructed by Manager.
- Performs other duties as appropriate and needed by supervisors.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an approved Radiology Technology program.
- Ability to deal with strenuous and physical activity daily in lifting, pulling, pushing patients, radiographic equipment cassettes, and/or supplies.
