What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solution Architect position at SSON?
The Solution Architect will provide on-site expertise necessary to translate, update and develop the following inventory database, Inventory Suite processing, inventory analysis, field data collector, reporting applications and other forestry programs. The Solution Architect will provide support including development, design, maintenance, automation, and standardization within their area of responsibility, including specialized Incorporate automation tools, code and scripts to support program platforms. USD $145,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
- Migration from legacy code to a .Net platform.
- Packaging in standard code libraries for future maintenance.
- Design and implement upgrades and enhancements to forest inventory desktop and field applications.
- Design and implement enhancements and modifications to the national reporting application InFoDAT
- Perform requirement analysis to identify the data and software requirements and corresponding required level of effort to export CFI data to vegetation models.
- Perform requirement analysis to determine the best ongoing approach and software plan for handheld hardware and software.
- Utilization of the following Visual Studio.NET, Visual Basic.NET, C#, SQL.
- Design and implementation of miscellaneous applications for general use within DOF.
- Formulate and define use cases to establish and document scope of objectives and requirements.
- Author documentation of requirements and system requirement specifications.
- Design and maintain database schema and dictionaries including overall application of standards and procedures and integration of programs to and from the database design.
- Work with forestry staff to understand problem domain and develop specifications to model it.
- Lead development team in the analysis, design and implementation of the software applications.
- Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
- Assists in training less experienced software development staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with InventorySuite application
- Experience with the following Visual Studio.NET, Visual Basic.NET, C#, SQL
- Must possess problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
- Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
- Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
