Job Description
Objective
Conduct product inspections, including FAI, Receiving, Final, and IPI auditing, all in accordance with customer requirements and ISO standards
Essential Functions
Apply Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methods and tools to make work process improvements
Observe and apply department and company Safety policies and procedures
Directly Inspect product and record inspection reports for FAI, Receiving, Final and IPI
Apply and use a variety of gages, indicators, micrometers, calipers, and comparators
Maintain 5S condition of QA department and immediate work area
Perform other duties assigned by supervision
Apply Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methods and tools to make work process improvements
Observe and apply department and company Safety policies and procedures.
Competencies
Knowledge of Quality process maps and Lean Standard Work
Advance knowledge of inspection methods and tools
Basic shop math, through Algebra
Ability to read blueprints
Attention to detail
High quality standards of work for both self and others
Teamwork skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Quality ISO procedures and Lean Standard Work
Work Environment
Manufacturing/metal working shop environment
Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Many hours standing/walking involved (10 )
Working with a variety of measuring tools and metal parts (some sharp edges)
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and also those to make molds
Entry Level Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Entry Level Experience - 6 months in a manufacturing environment and ability to use manual and digital measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers as well as read blueprints preferred
2 years of manufacturing experience, OR one year of precision mechanical inspection, preferred
