As our Tax Manager, you will:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes.
- Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of all tax forms, including Sales & Use Taxes, Personal Property Taxes, Franchise and Corporation Taxes, and other business-related taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely sales and use tax filings.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Regional Accounting, Treasury, and Operations Management to align tax processes with financial reporting.
- Lead and develop the tax team, setting clear performance expectations and tracking KPIs.
- Oversee tax audits, preparing responses and supporting schedules.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and develop strategies to ensure compliance and optimize tax plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax procedures and implement necessary changes.
- Provide support for internal audits and special tax-related projects.
- Manage quarterly and yearly tax projections, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of tax management experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Sales and use tax filing experience.
- Direct and indirect tax expertise.
- Experience handling tax audits.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of tax accounting principles and understanding of how tax relates to financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software (e.g., VERTEX).
- CPA license preferred.
- Canadian tax experience.
- Clear and strong communication skills.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and Canada.
- Travel: Up to 5% travel, including overnight stays within the U.S. and Canada.
