We are currently seeking experienced and career-driven Field Supervisors for full-time work in Queens, New York at JFK International Airport, Terminal 4.

About the Field Supervisor Position:

A Field Supervisor at JFK Terminal 4 is a working supervisor that serves as on-site liaison between SSPTMS and the client. Field Supervisors report to the Account Manager and General Manager and are responsible for ensuring that our work areas are operated in a safe manner consistent with our contract, policies, and applicable legal standards. Field Supervisors must build and maintain strong working relationships with SSPTMS management, our employees, and the client.

For consideration, candidates MUST meet the following qualifications:

• Proven track record of progressive supervisory experience in the fields of traffic management, airport security, law enforcement, or the military (3 years required).
• Must be self-motivated, with a desire and ability to “lead from the front.”
• Excellent active listening and verbal/written communication skills (including consistent and reliable cellular phone and email access).
• Excellent interpersonal-skills, de-escalation-skills, and report writing skills.
• Licensed NYS Security Guard.
• 4-hr Flagger, OSHA-30, and SST certifications within sixty (60) days of hire.
• Be available to work at least one (1) weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
• Be available to work morning (0600 x 1800) and/or overnight (1800 x 0600) tours.

Field Supervisor Job Description:

• The Field Supervisor is a WORKING SUPERVISOR and is expected to spend their shift working outside in all weather conditions, alongside their subordinates. This is not an indoor position.
• The Field Supervisor currently works 12-hour tours (0600 x 1800) and/or overnight (1800 x 0600) tours, Field Supervisor MUST be available for one weekend day. Airport operations are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• Facilitate the smooth, secure flow of traffic on airport terminal roadways, including but not limited to drop-off and pick-up areas.
• Understand and apply safe traffic control practices, leading subordinates by example.
• Provide tour oversight and direction to all subordinates to meet the standards established by the client and the policy and procedural requirements established by SSPTMS.
• Provide a staffing report before the start and at the end of each tour.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and ensure incidents are adjudicated correctly with proper notification.
• Respond to all unusual occurrences; execute emergency response plans when necessary.
• Mentor and assess personnel and make recommendations to SSPTMS management.
• Audit and inspect subordinates and site conditions and provide feedback to SSPTMS management.
• Recognize and employ feedback provided by the client, ensuring that contract compliance measures are being met.
• Work alongside law and traffic enforcement officers and other traffic control mechanisms in the area.
• Perform other additional tasks that are deemed job-related by the client and/or SSPTMS management.
• Maintain frequent and positive contact with SSPTMS personnel, the client, and public.

Other Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Must have strong report writing skills with special attention to grammar, spelling, and usage.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid, unexpired NY/NJ Driver License (mandatory).

FLSA Status and Salary:

The Field Supervisor is a full-time, non-exempt position. SSPTMS is committed to equitable pay. As part of that commitment, we have provided the estimated compensation range for this position of $30.00 to $45.00 hourly.
