Job Description :
Manage Mineral Processing related scope for studies and projects to provide information for strategic decision making. Create, manage, and enact processes to provide Mineral Processing performance oversight. Align with corporate mine technical services to define operational mid / long term strategies which sustainably maximize cashflow.
Help develop strategies and a culture of experimentation to apply the latest technology to identify and solve problems with new products or processes which create high value step change for the business.
The Day to Day :
The Principal, Mineral Processing is secondarily responsible for developing and executing SSR's Mineral Processing strategic governance, metallurgy programs, and GeoMet standards.
- 1. Liaise with sites to identify, advocate, and support metallurgical and geomet projects to ensure operations are leveraging the latest technologies and effectively using data to make the optimal metallurgical decisions for planning and operations.
- 2. Support operations in developing methods of metal and mineral production accounting that meet or exceed industry best practice and are auditable.
- 3. Review operational processing facility and geochemistry data to identify areas of opportunity to improve recovery, costs, and / or efficiency. Influence sites in making improvement changes with clear planning, change management, and escalation processes which drive accountability and success.
- 4. Support, manage, and provide diligence for external SME's, contractors, and laboratory test work providers to assist in providing information required to overcome challenges and / or provide direction in collaboration with the Project & Studies Group to ensure successful development of an operable facility with maximized output.
- 5. Work closely with corporate Geology, corporate Mine Technical Services, and corporate Finance to ensure the entire technical value stream is integrated at maximum value for long term scenario analysis and strategic planning including input to LOM planning and the District Master Plans.

- 7. Actively identify key areas for innovative transformation, develop plans according to varying timelines, and manage these processes by aligning innovation mineral processing goals with the company's broader business objectives.
- 8. Evaluate emerging technology for suitability and value creation within SSR's operations.
- 9. Provide Mineral Processing input for SEC S-K1300 and Form 10-K reporting requirements.
- 10. Participate in M&A Due Diligence teams, study teams, and project development as required.
- 11. Support team member development, consistent with a high-performance culture, by mentoring specialized training and providing opportunities for increased exposure to added responsibility and reward.
- 12. Ensure business and technical risks are properly understood, managed, and effectively communicated as well as providing guidance and resources for economic and risk analysis for projects.
- 13. Promote, at a team level, health and safety programs targeting zero work-related injuries and illnesses. Establishes a culture of safety awareness underpinned by an understanding of the principles of duty of care throughout the workforce.
Work is performed with a large degree of autonomy, receiving only strategic level direction. Problem resolution and management of metallurgical related studies requires a substantial degree of resourcefulness to manage external parties, and / or methods of communication and influence to senior management. Work is highly specialized in its complexity and involves a high degree of independent judgment to develop strategies to correctly scope, evaluate, plan and execute projects and improvement initiatives to their ultimate successful completion.
