What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stick Welder position at SST Direct?
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a STICK WELDER for a 3 week long job in Brookshire, TX starting 3/17.
PAY: $25- $27 per hour (based upon experience)
HOURS: 7:00AM-3:30PM
SCHEDULE: Shifts will be 8-hour workdays, 40 hours per week. Workdays will be Monday- Friday.
START DATE: 3/17/2025,
DURATION: Temporary - 3 weeks
SUMMARY:
Will be stick welding steel joist and deck welding. Will also be installing steel at a commercial facilitiy. Welding 7018 stick rod, using hand tools, power tools, taking measurements and installing. Will neeed to be certified in welding stick 7018.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform welding duties with stick welding 7018
- Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
- Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
- Work with fitters or fitters/welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related
- to the job’s needs.
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.
- Lifting 50 lbs
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have PPE
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site
