JOB ROLES:
Provide leadership and coordination to deliver an aligned and articulated instructional program in the assigned subject areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Texas Teaching certification required
- Minimum of three years of exemplary teaching
- Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction (preferred)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional and Program Management
- Coordinate the review , development, and revision of all core subject area programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, and teaching plans.
- Work cooperatively with directors, coordinators, and campus administrators in developing and supervising the instructional programs in all core subjects.
- Lead Instructional Leadership Teams for planning, development and production of curriculum materials, processes and best practices that are evaluated and acknowledged to be highly effective in improving student outcomes.
- Plan, improve, and oversee district curriculum and curriculum-based assessments in all core subject areas.
- Provide Local Assessment and DMAC support. Compile regular reports reflecting current student performance or other data, as needed.
- Assist in providing resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
- Obtain and use student achievement data to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for curriculum, including the use of trend line data, as a part of the district’s curriculum management system.
- Obtain and have on file appropriate publications and supplementary materials relevant to curriculum.
- Assist in the preparation of the budget and administration of the budget for supplies, equipment, and facilities in curriculum.
- Coordinate all core subject area grants development, implementation, and budget management.
- Manage the collection of ongoing assessment data and other pertinent local assessments, as well as provide data in user-friendly formats.
- Collect and report student performance data in usable forms.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
- Direct local district benchmark assessments and related sports.
- Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs.
Staff Development
- Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions, including sessions on delivery of instruction, enriched learning in classroom settings, and new instructional practices in all core subject areas.
- Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments in the state and national levels in curriculum.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in curriculum classrooms.
- Attend and present the most current curriculum during staff development.
- Provide resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
- Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs.
Other
- Assist in communicating information to parent and community members about school programs in curriculum.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Compile budgets and cost estimates based on document program needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
