The Front Office Specialist provides clerical support for the Lifeline department staff and patients.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet clients/visitors and assists them as needed
- Registers clients that are arriving for admission
- Collects client information and enters into SMART.
- Process Central Registry for new admissions.
- Process admission, discharge, and MTQAS state information.
- Verifying insurance coverage on a weekly basis.
- Maintain the 90-day update for DPH/BSAS clients.
- Collect client payments and process required reports to Account Receivable.
- Files and pulls medical records.
- Responsible for departmental filing in medical records.
- Performs QA on discharge charts.
- Provides back up for Expediter by facilitating client admission onto the Lifeline program and making a smooth transition to medical and clinical staff.
- Works with billing office regarding financial and insurance information.
- Orders and distributes supplies.
- Answers telephones, directs calls or assists caller as necessary.
- Responsible for service and assistance with postage.
- Responds to emergency situations by alerting the appropriate staff.
Experience and Skills:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical front office experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sliding fee, waiver forms, release of records and other forms.
- Knowledge of substance abuse / addiction, preferred.
- Communicates effectively and sensitively on the telephone and in person.
- Good computer skills and data entry experience.
- Bilingual, preferred.
