The Front Office Specialist provides clerical support for the Lifeline department staff and patients.

Duties & Responsibilities
Greet clients / visitors and assists them as needed
Registers clients that are arriving for admission
Collects client information and enters into SMART.
Process Central Registry for new admissions.
Process admission, discharge, and MTQAS state information.
Verifying insurance coverage on a weekly basis.
Maintain the 90-day update for DPH / BSAS clients.
Collect client payments and process required reports to Account Receivable.
Files and pulls medical records.
Responsible for departmental filing in medical records.
Performs QA on discharge charts.
Provides back up for Expediter by facilitating client admission onto the Lifeline program and making a smooth transition to medical and clinical staff.
Works with billing office regarding financial and insurance information.
Orders and distributes supplies.
Answers telephones, directs calls or assists caller as necessary.
Responsible for service and assistance with postage.
Responds to emergency situations by alerting the appropriate staff.
Experience and Skills
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical front office experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of sliding fee, waiver forms, release of records and other forms.
Knowledge of substance abuse / addiction, preferred.
Communicates effectively and sensitively on the telephone and in person.
