Job Description:

SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs.
The Referral Clerk is responsible for processing patient insurance referrals, prior authorizations relating to patient care which includes knowledge of insurance companies.
This is a 32-hour per week position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Arrange outside medical appointments ordered by our providers.
- Referral Clerk will verify insurance and complete prior authorizations
- Liaison between Health Center and outside specialty offices.
- Answering phone calls in the Referral Department
- Referral Clerk will document all referral actions taken in the medical records
- Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
- High school diploma required.
- Previous office experience required.
- Proficient with computer systems.
- Team Player, Respectful of others.
- Data Entry and strong organizational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Pleasant phone manner.
