Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer with .NET skills to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing existing applications built in PowerBuilder while also contributing to the development of new modules and features in .NET. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of business processes, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications using PowerBuilder (versions 10.x 12.x or higher).
Migrate legacy PowerBuilder applications to modern technologies including .NET (C#/VB.NET).
Analyze system requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
Debug, test, and troubleshoot existing code to ensure quality and functionality.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software.
Optimize application performance and scalability.
Develop and maintain technical documentation.
Provide support and enhancements to existing applications in production.
Follow best practices for secure coding, code reviews, and agile development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
5 years of experience with PowerBuilder development.
Hands-on experience with .NET Framework / .NET Core (C# or VB.NET).
Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
Experience in designing and consuming Web Services (SOAP/REST).
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or TFS.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with modernization projects (e.g., converting PowerBuilder to .NET).
Knowledge of UI/UX principles and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, or React is a plus).
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS) is a bonus.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
