Position Overview :
SSW Advanced Technologies is seeking an experienced and innovative R&D Director to lead our applied research and development efforts in creating value-add products and technologies for our customers in the appliance industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development, engineering, and project management, along with a passion for driving technological advancement and delivering marketable solutions supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the R&D strategy aligned with the company’s vision and based on customer input, market trends within the appliance sector.
- Team Management : Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Research and Development : Oversee all phases of the R&D process, from understanding customer needs, to ideation, to product and / or technology development, to product launch, ensuring that projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Innovation : Drive the development of new products and technologies by identifying emerging product and application trends, analyzing market segment innovations, and exploring innovative solutions that provide marketable value.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, manufacturing to ensure seamless product development and successful commercialization.
- Budget Management : Manage the R&D budget, allocating resources effectively to prioritize high-impact projects that align with company goals.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that all R&D activities comply with industry regulations and standards, including safety, environmental, and performance requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders, including executive leadership and external partners.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify areas for process improvement within the R&D function and implement best practices to enhance productivity and innovation cycles.
