The Onsite Quality Technician will conduct tests to determine the quality of raw materials, bulk intermediate, and finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished goods.
- Inspect products, ensuring quality standards are met (1st Piece, Capability Studies, In-Process)
- Conduct process audits.
- Identify and implement efficiencies.
- Create or follow internal procedures and support manufacturing engineering on work instructions in order to meet or surpass quality levels of the ISO 9001 standards.
- Compute and relate metrics regarding customer defect information, scrap, and inspection data.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to review open issues and activities to be resolved or acted upon
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Help ensure the production and timely delivery of products.
- Help maintain test equipment, quality lab tools.
- Help determine root causes, recommend corrective actions to process.
- Collaborate effectively with manufacturing personnel and management.
- Assist manufacturing departments with control plan and work instructions in accordance with PFMEAs, Process Flows, Control Plans and company quality management system procedures and customer requirements
- Promote quality concepts and principles throughout SSW Holding Company Inc.
- Assist in Supplier Corrective actions (DCAR Process)
- Assist with 5S and ISO audits.
- Conduct lab testing which involves Salt spray, Humidity, Paint panel, X-ray and other testing as required per ASTM standards.
- Calibrate attribute gages and measuring devices at regularly scheduled intervals and enter information into database.
- Ensure that quality reports and pertinent information are communicated daily.
Position Supervised or Directed:
- Reports to Quality Manager
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Degree/Diploma Obtained: Minimum High School Diploma, associate degree preferred
- Additional Training Requirements: Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as SPC, Lean, Six Sigma a plus.
- 3 years of experience in quality related role. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use basic quality hand tools preferred.
