Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with Company policies
- Interact in a professional manner with other department heads/employees/customers
- Work overtime and/or varying shifts as necessary
- Achieve departmental objectives through planning, directing, and leading activities of the team members
- Adjust labor within your department to achieve 100% customer compliance while meeting productivity goals
- Drive production on all lines to achieve or exceed daily rate focused on obtaining DLU Metrics set by Collis
- Achieve departmental quality, scrap, and rework goals supporting the quality team initiatives focusing on PPM and scrap rate objectives
- Achieve site wide safety goals, supporting the EHS team on safety initiatives
- Communicate objectives and goals daily, contributing to safety, utilizations and quality
- Drive 5S objectives throughout the facility aligning with Collis’ 5S goals
- Coordination and communication needed interdepartmental support to achieve consistent workflow with minimum downtime, holding direct reports accountable to achieve daily metrics
- Embrace humble leadership fostering a team-based mindset, promoting a culture of growth and success
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
- Maintain 30-60-90 day new hire onboarding and training plans in collaboration with the HR team
- Have a thorough understanding of all assembly lines in the facility or ability to learn the process at each line
- Continue to reduce material and labor cost through reduction of machine downtime and cross train employees to reduce overtime during vacations, personal days, and absenteeism
- Develop and maintain training plans, records, cross training matrices and for all team members
- Grow the team, foster and develop talent to leverage the team’s talent accomplishing Collis’ goals and objectives
- Ability to coach, train (as needed) and provide performance feedback to all associates while holding them accountable for obtaining rate and expectations.
Position Supervised or Directed: Supervisory Role
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Associates degree or a 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred or a combination of both
- Excellent communication skills, utilizing both verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with people in a positive and effective manner
- Ability to lead with and without authority inspiring others to follow driving for results
- Knowledge of the product, process and machinery needed for the completion of the product in their area of responsibility
- Familiar with quality standards, specifications, and ISO Standards
- Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Have a strong working knowledge of lean principles and project management principles
- Previous SAP experience or knowledge is utilizing SAP in a manufacturing environment preferred
General Requirements:
- Able to travel to other divisions when required.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a plant environment which includes dust, and allowable noise levels.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, use hands and arms to accomplish the task.
- Periodically, sits at desk to work doing necessary reporting, planning, and directing.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Heat index in plants may reach high 90’s in summer months.
