The On-site Supply Chain Manager will direct or coordinate production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, or safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
- Production planning/scheduling.
- Responsible to achieve inventory goals each month RAW, WIP, and FG.
- Collect, track and report daily information on shipments, finished goods inventory, standard and actual labor, dollars produced in plant, and parts scrapped.
- Inventory control.
- Shipping and receiving.
- Weekly review of purchasing from China or other overseas suppliers.
- Responsible to ensure the cycle count program is maintained and accurate and reports are forwarded to Corporate as requested.
- Work with Purchasing Manager to ensure all raw materials are received on time to support production schedules without disruption.
- Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
- Direct and ultimate accountability to ensure that inventory accounting & reporting is accurate, and any discrepancies are understood, appropriately reported, and promptly corrected.
- Continually reduce RAW and WIP inventory levels (persales dollar) without disrupting production or adding cost to operations or incoming freight.
- Purchasing.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
- Forecasting.
- Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.
- Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
- Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.
- Communicate with Corporate IT for problems or new IT needs.
Position Supervised or Directed:
- Sales & Operations Planning Manager- Direct report.
- Plant Materials Managers- Indirect Report.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Systems.
- 5-7 years of experience in Production Control, Supply Chain, Materials, Operations.
General Requirements:
- Able to travel to other divisions when required.
- Availability to go to the office from Monday to Friday.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Office Environment.
- Periodically exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Frequent multi-day business travel is required including international travel.
