At South Shore YMCA, we’re looking for passionate, certified Group Exercise Instructors who want to bring energy, connection, and expertise to our team. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you’ll lead a range of group fitness classes, from energizing sessions like Zumba and Cycle to mindful practices like Yoga and Pilates. If you’re excited to motivate others and create a positive, engaging environment, we’d love to have you! As a part-time instructor, you’ll have the opportunity to engage members in meaningful ways, inspire their fitness journeys, and become a key part of a welcoming community.
Responsibilities:

Lead Engaging Classes: Deliver fun, inclusive classes for all fitness levels, from high-energy formats (e.g., Zumba, Cycle, Les Mills) to calming practices (e.g., Yoga, Pilates). Adapt and tailor each session to create an unforgettable experience.

Build Member Relationships: Create a warm, supportive environment by connecting with members, encouraging them to reach their goals, and making everyone feel valued and welcomed.

Stay Connected with Our Team: Communicate regularly with the Health and Wellness Director on class attendance, member feedback, and equipment needs, ensuring top-quality classes and spaces.

Keep the Space Inviting: Help ensure that our exercise areas are clean, safe, and fully equipped, so every class is ready for action.

Qualifications
Certified Instructor: Certification specific to the classes you’ll lead (e.g., Zumba, Cycle, Les Mills, Yoga, Pilates) along with CPR and First Aid certification.

Experience: Ideally, you bring 1-2 years of group exercise instruction experience, along with a passion for inspiring and adapting to all fitness levels.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency with technology for scheduling, timecards, and online training apps.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, swim and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Salary : $30 - $40
