Job Description
Reporting to the Director of the School of Public Service, the Program Coordinator will provide
dedicated administrative support to the Director and perform a wide variety of duties which will
require superior organizational, logistical, and written and verbal communication skills.
Specifically, areas of responsibility will include:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of running the School of Public Service for high school students
- Recruiting and marketing for the program, facilitating presentations to prospective high school
- Provide support for development and fundraising efforts for the program
- Serve on the admissions team by reviewing applications for the summer program
- Assist with curricular and co-curricular design for the summer program
- Assist with planning and leading the execution and implementation of a new alumni initiative
inclusive of compiling and updating a database of information on graduates of the program and
organizing ways to connect graduates with one another and with opportunities in public service.
- Organize the logistics of the summer program.
- Oversee the work of interns hired for the summer.
The position may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not
preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $46,000 depending upon education and experience

Professional Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years in public policy work and/or development; a demonstrated
interest in public policy, and strong academic achievement
Education: Completed 4-year degree
Certifications: N/A
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference for individuals with experience with the School of Public Service
- Experience working directly with high school students
- Experience with fundraising

Working Conditions
Schedule: During the academic year (approximately September to May) perform work that is
ordinarily Monday through Friday between the general hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Peak time
for the program is June through August in which the candidate might expect expanded hours,
additional nights and/or weekends in addition to the core daytime work hours. During the Summer
program, overnight supervision may be required.
Work Environment: The job is primarily performed in an indoor climate controlled office but does
involve a considerable amount of walking across a sprawling campus. During the Summer, the
Program Coordinator is expected to supervise excursions. The position also requires the ability to
work in front of a computer for extended periods of time, engage with prospective students via
phone/email and engage with other staff/stakeholders similarly.
