St. Ambrose Catholic School in Deerfield Beach, Florida is searching for an enthusiastic and creative Elementary Teacher for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. This applicant will be expected to model the Catholic faith and incorporate teachings across all subject areas for grades K-5 and be responsible for creating and implementing age-appropriate, engaging, and motivating lesson plans following ADOM standards. The Elementary School Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Creates and defines goals and objectives lessons plans, prepares classroom activities, organizes teaching materials, evaluates student performance, maintains classroom records, and manages time effectively.
- Uses technology skills, digital books, and interactive classroom technology in subject lessons.
- Employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom.
- Collaborates with colleagues for the benefit of the students.
- Participates in reflective, self-directed, on-going professional development.
- Submits grades in a timely manner.
- Holds conferences with students, parents, administrators, and other professionals.
- Participates in faculty meetings, retreats, school assemblies, and special events.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Elementary Education.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education; temporary or professional.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
