What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at St. Ambrose University?
The St. Ambrose University Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program (MPAS) seeks a Medical Director to collaborate with the program director and faculty to ensure a quality education experience that meets the program's accreditation standards. The Medical Director will participate in some didactic instruction and be strongly invested in the caliber and impact of the program's clinical experiences for students. This is a 12-month position with an average commitment of a half a day per week or 2 days per month.
Potential candidates will be highly motivated individuals who will be responsible for working with other program faculty, the program director and the College Dean to contribute to the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum. A Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medical (D.O.) degree is required with current certification by an ABMS or AOA specialty board. Preference will be given to those with prior teaching experience and experience in supervising or working with practicing Physician Assistants.
The MPAS program resides in the College of Health and Human Services which serves students preparing for careers in healthcare, education, and human services.
