The St. Ambrose University Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position. Professional nursing experience in behavioral mental health is desired, but not required, for this position. The successful candidate will join a well-established department focused on implementing the approved curriculum based on the mission and philosophy of the Department of Nursing and St Ambrose University. This 11-month position begins on July 1, 2025.
Nursing faculty are professionals with the education and skills to prepare the next generation of nurses. They provide opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and practice skills identified in course objectives within classroom, laboratory and clinical settings; using appropriate and innovative teaching methods across a variety of modalities - including online and face to face teaching. All nursing faculty at St Ambrose University participate in the program's evaluation and continuous improvement processes.
Qualified applicants will possess a Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DNP). Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa. Licensure in additional states may be required. Candidates with experience in behavioral health nursing are preferred. Faculty rank will be commensurate with the applicant's credentials and experience. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and scholarship with experience in academia will enhance the candidate's application.
