As a Activities or Life Enrichment Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing a variety of recreational, leisure, and educational activities. Your contributions will support the therapeutic goals and overall philosophy of our organization, ensuring our residents live fulfilling and joyful lives.
The Life Enrichment Department schedule would be Tuesday through Saturday (8a.m..-4:30p.m.) day shift with evenings as needed(for special events).

Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of engaging activity and recreation programs.
- Participate in community outings and events that align with the interests of our residents and their families.
- Encourage residents and families to actively participate in facility activities.
- Refer residents and families to appropriate social services or nursing personnel when needed.
- Support daily tasks of the Life Enrichment or activities Department, including delivering newspapers and mail, updating activity calendars, and maintaining clean and organized activity spaces.
- Record daily attendance in programs to ensure accurate tracking.
- Work closely with the Director of Life Enrichment and other department staff to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Assist in ongoing quality improvement projects within the department.
- Exhibit and promote excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and safely drive company vehicles with residents, adhering to vehicle policies.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly Life Enrichment Department meetings.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment.
Safety and Sanitation/Environmental:
- Adhere to established safety standards and precautions in all duties.
- Immediately report any hazardous conditions or equipment issues to the Director of Plant Operations or Supervisor.
- Participate in all required annual in-service training sessions.
- Engage in facility environmental, recycling, and waste initiatives.
Residents’ Rights:
- Champion a person-centered approach in all interactions with residents.
- Treat all residents with kindness, dignity, and respect, ensuring their rights are upheld, including participation in care decisions and being addressed by their preferred name.
- Ensure nursing care is provided with privacy by knocking before entering residents’ rooms.
- Respect residents' choice of doctor and other personal preferences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in writing legible and understandable English.
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff; Strong communications skills.
- Willingness to work harmoniously with both professional and non-professional personnel.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide senior care.
- Capable of working independently and following the Life Enrichment calendar.
- Open to learning new methods and incorporating them into existing practices, in line with St. André commitment to continuous improvement.
