What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Support Coordinator (Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 8) position at St. Andrew's Episcopal School?
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is looking for an exceptional Student Support Coordinator to join our incredible faculty for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities:
· Foster and maintain strong relationships and collaborative communication with students, parents, faculty, and administrators
· Understand responsibilities to uphold confidentiality in relation to private materials and conversations while providing colleagues and families with the information they need to help the student
· Review psycho-educational assessments and generate appropriate academic accommodation plans
· Prepare learning profiles of students in grades 1-8 upon receiving evaluations
· Meet with individual students in their classroom setting to discuss learning styles, study skills, and classroom strategies
· Assess/screen students in a timely manner to identify challenges in the learning process
· Provide short term, individual intervention inside the classroom setting as needed for students
· Assist teachers with integration of classroom strategies and study skills for students
· Attend staff, team, and department meetings
· Serve as the primary point of contact for independent tutors/specialists
Collaborate With:
· All students with documented learning disabilities both individually and in small groups in order for them to develop learning strategies for academic success
· Faculty to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services
· School counselor when students and families are dealing with mental health challenges or confirmed mental health diagnoses that can impact learning
· Admissions committees to evaluate prospective students for good fit in the St. Andrew’s academic environment
· Outside professionals regarding research and best practices in the education of students with diagnosed learning disabilities and differences in learning styles.
Maintain:
· A current referral list and provide referrals for diagnostic testing resources and community support services for families
· A current list of academic (subject matter) tutors, organizational/homework tutors, and other tutoring specialists and provide referrals when needed.
· Communication with teachers regarding meeting student specific learning needs within the regular classroom
· Student records
Provide:
· Out-of-classroom, extended-time accommodations for standardized testing when necessary and communicate with parents, students, and other school personnel about these tests
· Observations of students and consultation to faculty members when they express concern about potential student learning problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, (Master's degree preferred)
- Reading Specialist or Learning Specialist Certification preferred
- Classroom teaching experience (preferred)
- Breadth of experience across grade levels in an elementary setting
- Knowledge of and fluency with a range of formal assessment tools
- Experience supporting faculty with student intervention and support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A collegial attitude and demonstrated ability to work with others

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
