What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Handyperson Needed - St. Andrew's Place position at St Andrew's Place?
This position is responsible for maintenance services to the building, apartments, equipment, and grounds of St. Andrew’s Place Assisted Living – the best assisted living community on the Olympic Peninsula.
Responsibilities includes:
- Performing preventive maintenance on the building, equipment, and grounds.
- Turn apartments over on move-outs; which may include painting, wall repairs, carpet cleaning, etc.
- Perform repairs if needed – e.g. repair a hole in the wall, replace broken hoses, etc – it would be nice if you had skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or painting.
- Monitors and record building and water temperatures and adjusts to meet regulations and safety codes.
- Ensure strict adherence to community fire safety and hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions or equipment problems
- Keep the outside grounds looking good – mow the lawns, weed, etc,
Requirements:
- This is a hands-on position so you must be ok with getting dirty.
- Must be organized and able to self-direct tasks
- Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
- Access to reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Not afraid of heights
- Meet state requirements to work in long-term care community.
- Capable of being physically active
- Pass drug test
- Must want to work
