What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Minister position at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church?
ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES
St. Andrews is a vibrant, growing reputable community church seeking a dynamic, authentic minister of high school ministries to play a key role in advancing the mission to love our community and shape its culture by equipping every generation to follow Jesus. This individual will be responsible to create a high-quality, relationally engaging, Christ-centered experience for students from 9th to 12th grade, helping them develop their God-given identity, sense of belonging, and purpose.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a relational minister to students building significant one-on-one connections. Shepherd, pursue and encourage students.
Creatively implement strategies to connect with students from our local school and community.
Develop, implement, and improve a comprehensive discipleship plan for high school students that includes programs, special events, retreats, service opportunities and camps.
Serve as the primary teacher and spiritual leader for the ministry.
Identify, equip, train, and encourage adult volunteer leaders to effectively serve and equip students.
Partner with parents by communicating and connecting with them regularly and effectively.
Effectively administrate budget, calendar, communications, etc. to support the operations of the ministry in collaboration with middle school ministry.
OTHER GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES
In addition to normal responsibilities, is a member of a team dedicated to Christian service and should therefore always seek to conduct him/herself in a way that would be pleasing to the Lord.
Engage actively within the church community, supporting, and participating in "church-wide" gatherings and functions as a visible part of St. Andrews body of believers.
Take part in middle school ministry as needed
Collaborate with other church ministries and be a team player.
Perform other duties as requested by the Family Generations Pastor
QUALIFICATIONS
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus that includes personal habits, accountability, and corporate worship.
Bachelors degree (BA) and/or four years or more of church related experience required
An active part of St. Andrews and affirms the mission, values and mission.
A commitment to growth and collaboration.
Pursue ongoing personal and professional development through reading, attending conferences, networking, and staying updated on current trends and resources in youth ministry.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
