A typical teaching load consists of four sections with two to three preps. This position affords the opportunity to teach all levels of mathematics from Algebra to Multivariable Calculus. The teacher will work with the department chair and math faculty members to ensure an integrated and cohesive curriculum. Candidates should show a lively interest in pedagogy, a collaborative spirit, and an ongoing commitment to teaching students with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to bringing out the best in each student, working together with colleagues, and meaningful professional development.
The position will also involve full participation in the extracurricular and student life programs of this residential community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Four class sections;
- Two seasons of athletic coaching or two seasons of a major, non-athletic extracurricular program;
- Dormitory duty once or twice a week;
- Weekend duty once every four weekends;
- Participation in school committees and activities;
- Adhere to the schools dress code.
Skills and experience:
- Interested candidates should have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics or a closely related field; teaching experience is beneficial but not required.
- Candidates must have a passion for working with and living in community with adolescents.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or canceled, or disqualified from driving).
- Candidates with the experience to coach any of our sports programs will be given strong consideration in this search. More specifically, we have coaching openings in football, basketball, field hockey, squash, crew, volleyball, and tennis. Candidates with these qualifications should highlight them in their application materials.
