What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coaches: Middle School Baseball, Golf, Soccer position at St. Andrew's School?
St. Andrew’s School is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Spring Athletics Coaches. We are looking for individuals to fill the roles of Middle School Baseball, Golf, and Soccer Coaches for the upcoming season. The ideal candidates will possess a passion for coaching, a strong understanding of each sport’s fundamentals, and the ability to instill teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in our young athletes. These are part-time, seasonal positions, ideal for individuals with prior coaching experience or a solid background in the sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead practices focused on skill development, strategies, and teamwork.
- Manage teams during practices and games.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all players.
- Foster both individual skills and a team-first mentality.
- Teach athletes the importance of sportsmanship, effort, and discipline, on and off the field.
- Maintain regular communication with players, parents, and school administration.
- Collaborate with assistant coaches, the athletic director, the program director, and other faculty members.
- Assist in organizing and overseeing team events, such as games, tournaments, and other activities.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, league rules, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience or a strong background in the sport applied for, ideally with middle school or youth teams.
- Knowledge of sport-specific techniques, drills, and game strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively work with young athletes in a positive and respectful manner.
- Availability for practices (typically after school hours) and games (evenings or weekends as scheduled).
- A commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Background check required.
Required:
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Previous experience coaching middle school or youth sports teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young athletes.
