Job Title : Housekeeper
Reports To : Director of Environmental Services
FLSA Class : Non-exempt
Summary of Position
Keeps the resident rooms and public areas of the facility clean and orderly in order for the facility to provide a clean and safe environment to its residents.
Essential Functions
- Understand the importance of customer service and be willing to learn resident/relative satisfaction techniques.
- Assume responsibility for the cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas.
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Provide floor care in accordance with facility policy.
- Operate powered equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Dispense soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies.
- Replenish room supplies.
- Perform checkout procedures as they occur.
- Move furniture and set up rooms.
- Complete assignments within the scheduled time.
- Assist in the proper care, use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
- Report any observed area in poor repair or unsafe to supervisor.
- Assist in cleaning of emergency spills as needed.
- Assist with laundry duties as directed.
- Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping employees.
- Observe infection control procedures related to the Housekeeping/Laundry Department.
- Observe Resident's Rights policies and maintain resident confidentiality.
- Observe facility disaster preparedness procedures.
20. Observe facility safety policies and procedures.
21. Perform other related duties as directed by the Environmental Services Director or the Administrator.
