St. Anne Institute is hiring a Program Counselor for their Vocational Day Services Program. This position is approximately 10-hours per week (1:30-7:00pm) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The starting hourly rate will be $20.00 per hour (dependent upon education and experience).
Program Description:
The Vocational Day Services (VDS) Program is an afterschool work readiness program for adolescent youth that have a history of mental health challenges. This position has a starting hourly rate of $20.00, dependent upon educational credentials and experience.
The mission of VDS is to assist youth in developing the social, emotional, physical, and vocational abilities which are fundamental for successful placement in the workplace. While in VDS, youth work on individualized vocational goals while participating in the program’s learning activities. Learning activities are centered around career exploration based on youths' interests, navigating through the employment process, and meeting the day-to-day expectations at a job to maintain employment. The VDS program operates year-round and is conducted every Tuesday and Wednesday afterschool.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Experience in working with adolescent youth
- Possess strong communication, organizational, & time management skills
- Valid NYS driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Transports youth to program and home after program
- Assists staff in assigned daily activities
- Provides direct supervision of program participants, monitoring behavior and safety
- Conducts program projects and/or activities for youth as appropriate
- Handles documentation that monitors youths’ behaviors and goals
- Participates in assigned meetings and trainings
- Complete other duties as requested/assigned
