St. Anne's-Belfield School is seeking a Head Boys' Varsity Soccer Coach to build upon its strong legacy and thriving sports program. Reporting to the director of athletics and leading a team of assistant coaches, the successful candidate is passionate about the role that soccer can have in developing the character of student-athletes and furthering the School's mission. The head coach subscribes to the philosophy that the soccer program must work alongside other sports as a complement to the entire Saints athletic department.
This position will be hired for the Fall Soccer season, which generally runs for 14-16 weeks. A bi-weekly stipend will be paid during the season.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conducting research and analyzing previous games to develop practice and game plans.
- Determining individual player abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, and factoring these into the season competitions and strategy sessions.
- Establishing team rules and regulations and ensuring players are familiar with them.
- Organizing team-building sessions and activities off the field.
- Fostering good sportsmanship in all team players and in all phases of athletic participation.
- Managing and supervising athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, and respect.
- Ensuring that all soccer coaches work together toward a common goal.
- Supporting student-athletes in the recruiting process if they have the desire to play at the next level.
- Encouraging players to engage in other Saints sports programs.
- Using a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes in volleyball.
- Working with the Athletic Director / Associate Director of Athletics to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements.
- Establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, and director of athletics.
- Taking all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Working with the athletic department staff to be sure all equipment is in good and safe working order, maintaining inventory of all soccer equipment and uniforms.
