Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with scheduling software to optimize staff allocation across different shifts.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly nursing schedules and timecards, including assigning nurses to specific shifts based on patient acuity and staffing requirements.
- Analyze patient census and anticipated needs to ensure appropriate staffing levels on each shift.
- Manage relationships with staffing agencies and maintain contact information to fill gaps in the schedule when necessary.
- Communicate schedule changes, important updates, and staffing issues to nurses and nursing management.
- Respond to staff call-offs due to illness or emergencies, finding replacements to maintain staffing levels.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations regarding staff scheduling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of staff availability, time worked, and other scheduling data using electronic systems.
- Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
- Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
- Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards.
- Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
