Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides daily nursing care and other services according to nursing standards of care and documents appropriately. Includes but is not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers, ambulation, toileting, laundry, housekeeping and serving of meals.
- Assists in monitoring health status of the client and may administer medications as ordered by the personal physician.
- Provides assistance to and from activities, appointments in accordance with service agreement while encouraging as much independence as appropriate for each tenant. Partners with pastoral and wellness teams to assure participation in resident selected activities.
- Performs accurate reporting and documentation using established procedures and training. Information includes but is not limited to vital signs, weight, behavior and mobility.
- Assists with resident admission, transfer or discharge following established procedures. Completes administrative duties required or as requested such as copying and faxing.
- Documents resident incidents, accidents, emergencies or unusual behavior.
- Consults with and keeps staff nurse informed of change in tenants’ condition as soon as possible.
- Anticipates and responds to tenants’ needs promptly. Partners with family and team to meet service plan needs.
- Attends and participates in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain certification as a nursing assistant.
- Maintains professional attitude and is able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Maintains tenants’ rights to confidentiality, privacy, fair treatment and the right to refuse treatment.
- Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
- Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
- Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards.
- Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.

- High school diploma, GED, or similar certification required, one year certificate from a college or technical school preferred; with 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm and the ability to respond to and handle tenant needs in a professional and respectful manner.
